It's been a long time since I've subbed something alone :) Thanks to
kumikuri for translating and for her patience in explaining while I was QC-ing the clip. *showers her with flowers and cookies* ♥ As an additional bonus, since I got hold of a hardcopy of the concerts with chinese subtitles, I've translated the lyrics to 'Te no Hira no Universe' with kumikuri's additional support. Just because I think the lyrics are pretty meaningful^^

I sat down to watch the Documentary Film last week (with chinese subtitles), and took some notes. Unlike previous 'behind the scenes' clips, this one was purposely filmed to be serious hence lots of deep quotes came out of it.

About their relationship...
Ken: We are not ordinary friends, nor can we take it to be merely work colleagues, the feeling is also not like family. Even though we've spent more time together than with our own families, but it is still different. How should I say it... our relationship is pretty unique.
Go: The similarity between 3 of us is that all this time we take good care of ourselves, no matter the environment. In an unstable environment, it is necessary to know oneself well. And having the other 2 by one's side while looking after one another. Even though it is difficult to put into words, looking from this angle, our bond goes really deep.
Okada: Isn't there a word called 'comrades'? Even though we have never gone to war and so I'm not sure whether the meaning is used correctly, but for us it's not merely whether we get along well together. Perhaps we will never forget one another in this life, and will forever be good mates. How should I put it... For us, it's not simply because we get along well that's why we do things together. All this while we've traveled this road together hence regardless of the other person's good or bad points or for that matter the good or bad points the other person sees of you, we've worked together thus far with complete understanding and tolerance/forgiveness.
Go: There is the feeling of being childhood friends, and the feeling of team mates. Of course as competitors too. I also think if you work too close together for a long time, there are things that you don't see. But everyone have many aspects that haven't changed or have changed about them.
-----
Ken: I feel that the 3 of us have become more enthusiastic. The burden of responsibility on oneself is larger with just 3 people compared with 6. Even though it is something unavoidable, but we also know how to tone down the pressure.
During the MC repo, Ken mentioned it was difficult to film his part of the documentary because he kept fooling around. There was one scene where Okada was doing some stretches, and you could see Ken sliding up and down the corridor outside on a chair with wheels XD
-----
About Ken...
Go: Ken... he should be thinking hard inside, what sort of image will he present of himself on stage or how should he present the best side of him on stage.
Okada: The balancing point between us is rather peculiar. Sometimes when I and Go have conflicting opinions, I'm not the kind to stand up and do anything about it. But Ken can help us resolve these sort of issues and the 3 of us can work together.
-----
Okada: If you yourself do not know what you want to do, what you want to create. If you do not know what direction you want to progress in, having no opinions whatsoever. Simply put if one do not have their own ideas, no one would follow you. When young, it was enough to look cool and have fans screaming and being told you're cute. But pass that stage, as you get older, if one is not clear what they want to do and what they can do, there's no way you can stay in this job. This way the staff or whoever will not follow and do things for you. Hence like the kouhai(s) who always repeat the same performances, even though it is something out of their control and I guess it is hugely related to one's age. As you get older, you will start to concentrate on what you want to do, whether you really enjoy what you're doing, I've always seen this as an important lesson.

About the song 'Fight'...
Ken: The song 'fight' is a song with a strong message. In a way, it is like singing the 'us' of today, hence the feelings we drag into it is especially strong. As though we sing about the people we are now through the song. Hence our perspective of this song changes as we go along.
Go: When singing this song, for me, it is like singing for myself to hear. Aren't there times where we meet with many choices at the same time? During those times, in order not to waver, be clear of your intentions. That is what I've believed since I was 10 years old. Half of this feeling we sing for ourselves to hear, we also want to deliver the other half to everyone. I feel this is a difficult song to sing when we are 6 people, it is a song very suitable for 3 people to sing. And also because it is at this very moment, that's why we can express this song successfully.
Okada: It's been 6 years after all. I keep feeling that even if it's just one sentence, I want to let everyone know this is filled with our sincerity and the message we want to deliver.
'Fight'
In this unfair world, the crack between dreams and reality
I, who was almost knocked over, is now quietly saying I won't give up
The end or limits, mistakes, are only self-assumed limitations
One more time, raise your head and progress ahead
Walk towards the path of your goal
Right now, this path I decided for myself
Don't hesitate whether it's right or wrong just go forward
This is destiny, go ahead and fulfil your dreams
Even if you meet with obstacles raise your fist high
Look towards the confidence of tomorrow
Untie the so call leg-cuffs of restrain right now and fly towards tomorrow
Battling ahead on your own road, push off with great strength and spread your wings to fly
You must face the challenge regardless of the difficulties and obstacles
Practice exist in order to surpass so believe in yourself
Do not be troubled and cry Night & Day
Receive, face, take the opportunity to fight now
When you are on the verge of losing, please think of those unsatisfied tears
Exemplify your will

My Thoughts
~ I think 'comrades' is a very good word. They were put together randomly into a group and had no choice but to get along and work with one another. Throughout the years, they've found their place among the members, and just worked with whatever they got. I especially like that Go added in the word 'competitors' because it probably is very true deep down.
- A fan wrote this on her blog after watching the video which I think sums up their personalities nicely.
追求一種完美的岡田,
追求一種感覺的剛,
還有追求一種心意的健。
Okada, aiming for a kind of perfection.
Go, aiming for a kind of feeling.
Ken, aiming for a kind of intention.

Nagoya 8/19, 8/20 continue...
During 2nd encore,
Audience: One more time! One more time!
Ken: We can't understand a thing you guys are saying!! Are people from Nagoya poor at being in synch?? (<-- -_-')
Audience shouts loudly again 'One more time!'
Ken: That was good.
At the end when they hugged, it was really cute. This time Ken beckoned towards Go as though gesturing 'Come here!'. Although Go was rather embarressed, he flew into Ken's arms. And Ken hugged him tightly for a long time XD
--
Ken said when they went to eat barbacue chicken, everyone chatted for about 2 hours. He mentioned having to chat after the concert is over, that he was very thristy. But he is not good with alcohol, hence he ordered a non-alcoholic drink instead.
Ken: Okada drank our thanks on behalf of us, because me and Go are bad with alcohol. Otherwise we actually wanted to join in the fun with you guys too.
Okada: Ken really cannot drink. Whereas Go looks strong on the outside, but in reality, he can't drink much.
Go: Many people have told me that.
Ken: Go's alcohol tolerance levels are similar to mine right? Even though he says he can take it a bit.
Go (in the tone of 川島直美): 'My body is made up of alcohol' XD
Okada: Go is still ok, But Ken... (laugh)
Okada: The moment Ken drinks alcohol, he'll start becoming drunk, and become very cute. Maybe females will like it, but to tell you the truth, we think it's troublesome.
Go: It happens about one a year.
Ken: That 'once a year' situation has always been caused by Go!! Because he would force me to drink.
Go: Since everyone is there, all I said was let's click our glasses to cheer. And then you end up drinking more. Ah, give me some of that, give me some of that too, it's you who carried on drinking right?
Okada: Drinking with Go is still alright, but with Ken... Ken's alcohol tolerance level is really bad. He'll become very cute. Saying 'my belly button is missing' (mimicking Ken in an almost crying voice) My belly button has gone missing, where is it!
Go: He'll become no difference from a primary 2 kid.
Okada: Everytime Ken becomes drunk, he would say he has lost his belly button.
Okada (in a voice to console a kid): It's still here. Ken's belly button is here.
--
Okada: He really would say he can't find his belly button (laugh) Can I reveal what happened in Korea?
Okada: When we went to Korea, Ken became drunk, and ended up bending forward searching in the car.
Okada: It was really scary then. In the end he said I was very cold, and started to cry.
Go: Ah, that's right! And he deliberately put on his sunglasses to hide his tears.
Okada: He was tumbling over in the car. Because everyone ignored him, I accidently looked at him then, perhaps he thought my eyes looked very cold. Hence he said Okada's is very cold, then deliberately wore his sunglasses and started crying.
Audience: That was adorable!!!
Go: Eventhough everyone thinks it's adorable, but we were the ones in hot water.
Okada: Because we are all men so we can't hit him, girls would think this was very cute? And perhaps will start looking for his belly button with him?
Go: I'm sure they will. Even if it takes 2 to 3 hours.
Ken: No one would do that!
Ken: It's true! I couldn't find my belly button. Was it here or there?
--
When audience were using the penlights to form a milky way, people will make a wish to a shooting star right? And so...
Go: Please cure Ken's illness.
Ken: What nonsense!!
Okada: Please protect Ken in finding his belly button. (meany XD)

Fukui 8/23
~ At the end of the song '手のひらのUNIVERSE' when everyone would make a wish ~
Okada: I wish Ken would gaze at me.
Ken: I wish Okada would strip nude.
Go (pauses for a moment): I wish Ken's crew cut will quickly grow.
Ken: It will! It will grow even without your wish.
--
Okada (to Go): This time, the edges are decorated with seeds. How do you plan to plant them?
Go: Firstly, put them into the fridge to cool.
Go: Then put them into the ground. I personally think red soil is not bad.
Go: Then every day say 'Good morning', 'Good night', 'I'm going out', 'I'm home' to it. Just like that, I believe it'll grow in no time.

A Taiwanese fan has been translating the MC segments from CC's 'We're coming century boys' con tour. Seriously, she's awesome. She's done most of them and plans to do all eventually. I need some practice so I'll translate some snipets here and there. Random parts, at random times of random moments. Obviously only those I find interesting. Translations definitely not 100% accurate!! Most of the, these post will be made when I take breaks between studies/work so done under quick circumstances.
Nagoya 8/19, 8/20
Immediately into the MC segment, Ken went to get a bottle of water.
Okada: Go, as the oldest, you can scold him. (laugh)
Go: I really want to, but I don't bear to.
Ken: If you don't take in a bit of liquid evey hour, you can become dehydrated! (Motions bottle to Go) Want to drink?
Go: No thank you! This guy has the attention span of only 2 mins. During meetings, he'll suddenly start to skip rope. (laugh)
Ken: That's because I've used up my brain liquid.
Go: That's way too fast!!
--
Ken: Can I talk about a totally different topic? Graves...
Go: Graves??
Go: Don't you have anything else to talk about!
Ken: Recently I've been thinking a lot about graves. Modern graves are pretty awesome!!
Okada: Don't you think it's to early (to think about)?
Ken: Like those movable carparks, press a button, and the grave will appear. Then you can pay your respects!
Ken: And if the grave is too faraway, those who can't go over to visit can pay their respects to a picture of it on the internet.
Okada: If you're busy, better than not doing anything, that mode (internet pictures) of paying your respects isn't too bad.
Ken: For me, a tomb or tombstone made of granite would be nice. What about you Okada?
Ken: What about wood for Okada? WOOD, WOOD. (in english)
Okada: It'll disintegrate!! (laugh) I made a trip to Sweden before, and wanted to visit a graveyard (gardern), turns out everything was burried underground.
Ken: What about Go? Ah, I've thought of a good one for you! For someone who loves to smoke when alive. It's the shape of a cigarette box.
Go (laugh): Is it ok to reveal that?
Ken: For someone who likes to smoke, we can design the tomb to look like MILD SEVEN. The part where the MILD SEVEN logo is situated, change it to the person's name.
Go (immediately): Cool! I'll go for that!
(Note: I think there's a specific design for the MILD SEVEN cigarette packets in Japan.)
--
Okada: People on the 2nd floor are really high too!
Go: This place is pretty small, hence we can see till the furthest back.
Ken: We can see to the deepest places too!
Okada: ... The way Ken just said that felt A (me: sexual intonation)
Go: After 30, you'll understand the meaning of it!
Okada: Ken, after turning 30, do you have any expectations for the future?
Ken: I do. But I won't tell you all.
Audience: What is it??
Ken: Alright, I'll secretly reveal it a little. After 30... ok, I won't say! People with secrets have more charm.
Audience: Eh??
Okada: 'Secret Ken'.
--
Ken: Where did you go this morning?
Go: Convenience Store.
Ken: What did you get? The usual frozen fruits? Coffee?
Go (while laughing): Magazine!
Ken (face lits up): Oh! Golf Magazine!
Go (while laughing): Because I couldn't find you, so I had no choice but to get it myself.
Ken: Hey, stop joking! Why should it be me who buys?
Go: Didn't we agreed that you buy the golf magazines?
Ken: Agreement your head!
Ken: Who made such an agreement with you!
Go: What about Okada? Did he (Ken) buy chocolates for you?
Okada: Black chocolates? He hasn't! (To Ken) Buy me some chocolates >_<
Ken (covers ears): Ah~ Ah~ I didn't hear anything. I didn't hear anything.
